Maria Dionisiou is a graduate from Boston University who began her professional career designing outerwear. She made herself well known amongst the fashion industry with a little leopard swing coat she named the “Lucy.” Subsequently, Dionisiou was requested to create pieces for the Oscar Awards Fashion Shows and was recognized for her contributions in the credits alongside designers such as Gianfranco Ferre, Jean Paul Gaultier, Gianni Versace and Anna Sui. Throughout her career, Maria has consulted and produced ready to wear, outerwear and accessories for celebrities and other designers such as Suzanne Somers, Patti LaBelle, Randolph Duke, Fred Hayman, Adrienne Vittadini, Isaac Mizrahi, Calvin Klein, Donna Karan, Anne Klein, and Dennis Basso. Additionally, she has provided ingenious pieces for numerous television shows, motion pictures, off-Broadway musicals, music videos and print media fashion spreads. Labels included in Dionisiou’s own collections are Maria Dionisiou, Maria, Maria D., Fleece-Out by Maria, Maria Outerwear and Olympia Since 1972.
Dionisiou is also an accomplished Freelance Wardrobe Stylist and Image Consultant. Currently, she is concentrating on the entertainment industry. Included in her portfolio are: working on crew for the location filming of “Mamma Mia” the Movie, dressing on air talent for VH1 and acting as the new image creator for the Varsity Girls Music Band.
Maria continues her success through her contributions to the Art of Fashion with her limitless talent, dedication and vision.
